Family Fee-Earner

BBP Solicitors are a modern thinking firm, providing quality legal services with a strong focus on client relations.
Our family team provides assistance to private paying clients in relation to cohabitation, separation, divorce, finances on divorce, and children matters alongside a variety of other family-related legal matters. We have a strong focus on providing legal advice and assistance in a non-confrontational manner and comply with the Resolution Code in relation to all instructions. As well as being Resolution Accredited our solicitors are Collaboratively trained.

Following the departure of a senior fee-earner, we are looking to recruit a new member to our family team to take on an existing caseload and to assist in continuing to develop our family department.
Ideally, we are seeking a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with one year’s PQE however we will be happy to consider applications from non-qualified fee-earners with relevant experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own caseload and assist senior solicitors. Experience in handling divorce, financial, contact, and separation matters is essential. Resolution Accreditation would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be working from both our Morecambe and Lancaster offices and we are willing to consider part-time and flexible arrangements where appropriate. Salary dependent on qualifications and previous experience.

Paralegal/Legal Assistant with a view to Training Contract

Due to continued growth, we have an immediate Vacancy for an ambitious and talented paralegal to join our busy Conveyancing Department.

You would be joining a long established and highly regarded high street firm working alongside supportive and experienced members of staff.

In this role you will be a pivotal member of the Conveyancing Department and will gain the support, guidance, and a platform to further your career.

Your duties as a conveyancing paralegal will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparation of standard documentation
  • Liaising with the clients by telephone and email
  • Liaising with agents, lenders, and solicitors on the other side via email and telephone
  • Submitting SDLT returns and HM Land Registry applications

To successfully fulfil the above role, it is essential that you have the following skills:

  • Be able to work on your own initiative and be pro-active
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

The following skills would be desirable but not essential:

  • Good property experience, ideally a mixture of commercial and residential
  • An understanding of both registered and unregistered conveyancing

This role is intended to allow a 6 month trial period – which can be used as Time to Count within a training contract, on the basis that a training contract will be entered into at the end of that 6 month period. This is subject to performance and the candidate being willing and keen to enter a training contract with a Residential Conveyancing Focus. LPC/SQE to be already held or Self-Funded

This is a demanding position which offers excellent prospects to applicants looking to progress their legal career.

Salary is negotiable on experience.
